A very detailed famille verte plate, court scene, with butterflies and flowers. This is a lovely late Qing plate. It is in very good condition with only minimal gold loss. (see all pictures) It would make a wonderful display or cabinet plate!! The plate is 10 1/8" in diameter.
From Christies: "Later in the Kangxi period, Wucai wares evolved to become what Western scholars now refer to as famille verte, French for ‘the green family’. During this period, the palette developed to include clear greens, with enamels of other colours used for decoration".
