Magnificent pair of antique William IV gilt and patinated bronze swan candlesticks, dating to the second quarter of the 19th century (circa 1830-1840). This highly recognizable Regency design is attributed to William Bateman II for the famed royal goldsmiths Rundell, Bridge & Rundell.
Each fixture features a finely chased, leaf-cast gilt ormolu stem and foliate nozzle rising from a tri-form base. Centered beautifully around the stem are three sitting bronze swans with their elegant necks extended upward. The entire base rests securely on decorative bun feet. Stands approximately 6.8 tall x 4.5" wide and deep.
